Benefits of Using a Steam Sauna

Experience deep relaxation and rejuvenation with every steam session. A steam sauna helps cleanse your skin, ease muscle tension, and improve circulation, while also supporting easier breathing and stress relief. It’s a simple yet powerful way to refresh both body and mind.

  • Detoxification

Sweating in a steam sauna helps eliminate toxins through the skin’s pores, purifying your body while leaving your skin refreshed and your whole self feeling healthier, stronger, and more balanced.

  • Heart Health

Research shows that regular sauna use is linked to a lower risk of coronary heart disease and reduced overall mortality, including deaths related to cancer.

  • Brain Health

Regular sauna use has been scientifically proven to lower the risk of dementia and reduce the likelihood of developing Alzheimer's disease by up to 72%.

  • Reduced Inflammation

Sauna sessions help dilate the arteries, enhancing blood circulation throughout the body while relieving muscle tension, soreness, and discomfort.

  • Weight Loss

Sweating in a sauna can lead to temporary weight loss by reducing water retention, boost metabolism, and support a balanced approach to maintaining a healthy weight.

  • Immunity

Sauna use raises your body temperature, similar to a mild fever, which stimulates white blood cell production and strengthens your immune system to help fight off infections.

  • Cardiovascular

Consistent sauna sessions promote heart health by boosting blood circulation, relaxing blood vessels, and reducing the risk of high blood pressure and inflammation.

  • Rejuvenate Your Skin

Sauna sessions help your skin eliminate impurities, repair damage, and shed dead cells, leaving it healthier, refreshed, and glowing.

Rooted in Nature. Committed to the Future.

The Healing Garden of Sunhaven

Hidden within the lush wilderness of Oregon’s Cascade Forest, we cultivate and source botanicals from an 18-square-kilometer herbal sanctuary, where cedarwood, palo santo, lavender, and sage grow in harmony with nature.

In this untouched environment, rich volcanic soil and clean mountain air nurture herbs with powerful natural oils and scents that inspire every sauna we create.

Each plant carries a purpose:

  • Cedarwood – For grounding and respiratory support.
  • Palo Santo – For purification and mental balance.
  • Lavender – For relaxation and emotional calm.
  • Sage – For cleansing and renewal.

Together, they bring the essence of a forest garden into your sauna—transforming heat into harmony, and breath into balance.

Sunhaven’s Ongoing Commitment to Environmental Balance

At Sunhaven, sustainability isn’t just a statement — it’s a commitment we live by. Each year, we take part in certified reforestation efforts across Canada, aiming to plant more trees than we use in our sauna production.

In 2024, we planted 7,400 native trees — a significant step toward carbon responsibility and raw material renewal. By 2028, we expect to reach a point where our annual tree planting exceeds our wood consumption, making us a net-positive force for reforestation.

Our mission goes beyond building saunas. We're helping to rebuild forests — because true wellness means caring for both people and the planet.

Wellness in nature and responsibility for nature!

Why choose Sunhaven

Sustainably Grown, Naturally Superior

Our saunas begin in the forests of Canada, where we manage and cultivate our own grove of premium red cedar trees — over 34,000 planted since 2019, including 7,400 new trees in 2024 alone. Every plank of wood we use is part of a sustainable cycle: responsibly grown, carefully harvested, and replaced through continuous replanting.
This commitment not only ensures the purity, durability, and aroma of our cedar, but also reflects our responsibility to nature. By 2028, we expect to surpass 62,000 trees planted, ensuring every sauna we build gives back more than it takes.

Craftsmanship Meets Precision

Inside our production line, modern machinery and human craftsmanship work side by side — but it’s the hands of our artisans that define each sauna’s character.
With a handcraft-to-machine ratio of 8:2, every curve, joint, and finish is shaped with care, reflecting our belief that true quality comes from the human touch. This balance allows us to maintain both artisanal precision and modern efficiency, ensuring every sauna we deliver meets the highest standards of beauty and durability.

Where Craftsmanship Meets Purpose

At the heart of every Sunhaven sauna lies a story of dedication, precision, and integrity. Each unit is handcrafted in our factory by skilled artisans who blend traditional woodworking with modern engineering. From the careful selection of premium Canadian red cedar to the final inspection of every joint and panel, we ensure that each sauna reflects the highest standards of durability, safety, and beauty.

Trusted Worldwide for Quality and Design

Established in 2012, our factory has focused on one thing — building saunas that blend timeless craftsmanship with modern design. Every unit is made with precision engineering, premium materials, and a dedication to lasting quality.

Over the past two years, we’ve delivered more than 3000 saunas to customers across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Today, the U.S. accounts for about 78% of our clients, Canada 12%, and Europe 10% — a reflection of how widely our designs have been embraced.

Delivered With Care, Built for a Lifetime

Each completed sauna is securely packed in a custom wooden crate, proudly bearing our logo — a promise of quality on every journey. Whether bound for a customer’s backyard or a mountain retreat, our logistics team ensures safe, timely, and seamless delivery across North America and beyond.

Behind every sauna, there’s a belief — that warmth should feel personal, honest, and close to nature. It’s not just what we build, but what we hope you feel every time you step inside.

What are the benefits of an outdoor steam sauna?

Outdoor steam saunas provide a traditional sauna experience with high heat and steam, which promote relaxation, improve circulation, and help cleanse the body through sweating.

How long will it take for me to receive the sauna?

If the product is in stock, it takes about 7-9 days from ordering to receiving the sauna. If it is not in stock, it takes about 45-55 days.

What are the benefits of red cedar to the human body?

Western Red Cedar is an ideal wood choice for saunas due to its exceptional natural properties. It offers excellent resistance to moisture and decay, maintaining stability without warping or cracking even in high-temperature, high-humidity environments. Its moderate thermal conductivity ensures the surface remains comfortable and safe to the touch. Additionally, the wood emits a subtle, pleasant aroma that promotes relaxation and enhances the overall sauna experience. With its warm tones and beautiful grain patterns, Western Red Cedar brings both functionality and natural elegance to any sauna space.

Care and maintenance of outdoor saunas.

1. Routine Cleaning

  • Wash with warm water and a gentle, non-abrasive soap. Do not use strong chemicals, as they may damage the wood.
  • Since they are in direct contact with skin, wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Occasionally smooth the surface with fine sandpaper to maintain comfort.
  • Wipe down ceilings to avoid moisture buildup and keep lights dry.

2. Proper Ventilation

Always air out the sauna after use. Keep doors, vents, or windows open until all moisture evaporates, preventing mold and bacteria.

3. Wood Condition Check

Inspect panels regularly for cracks, warping, or other damage. Replace any compromised sections promptly. Do not apply oil-based finishes, as they can reduce heating efficiency.

4. Temperature and Humidity Control

Keep the sauna within the ideal range of 40–60% humidity and 150 °F–210 °F. Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive heat or dampness. Use a hygrometer and thermometer for accuracy.

5. Heater Care

Wipe off dust and dirt from the heater to maintain peak performance. Use the recommended stones and replace them periodically. For electric heaters, check wiring to ensure safe connections.

6. Mold and Bacteria Prevention

Apply anti-mold or antibacterial spray in high-moisture areas. Use removable mats on the floor for easier cleaning and to discourage bacterial growth.

7. Scheduled Inspections

Set a regular maintenance routine to check wood, heater, and electrical systems. Depending on usage, arrange an annual or professional inspection to ensure safe operation.

8. Doors and Windows

Check seals to prevent heat from escaping. Lubricate hinges and locks to keep doors operating smoothly.

How do I maintain the sauna exterior?

We recommend reapplying a coat of natural wood oil every 2–3 years. This enhances water resistance and prolongs the life of the sauna.

Warranty period and service life?

Our indoor saunas are backed by a 3-year warranty and our outdoor saunas by a 1-year warranty, and with an average service life of 10–15 years, every sauna is a long-term investment in wellness and lasting value.

How is the sauna transported?

The sauna will be disassembled and packed in wooden boxes for delivery by truck. Please note that with our free shipping plan, the boxes will be delivered to your doorstep curbside. If you need it delivered to your home, please choose white glove service. We will charge an additional fee.

Foundation material and foundation size.

The foundation only needs to be leveled and compacted for stability. Suitable materials include concrete, gravel, or wooden decking. We recommend that the foundation dimensions be 4–5 inches larger than the sauna’s base size. However, you may also choose a foundation with the exact same dimensions as the sauna base.

Can outdoor saunas be used in subzero temperatures?

Yes. Our outdoor saunas are designed for use in cold climates. However, please note that heating time will be slightly longer in extreme cold. The heating effect remains the same; only the warm-up process is slower.

What wind resistance level can the sauna withstand?

All our saunas use tempered safety glass that can withstand wind forces of up to Level 10 on the Beaufort scale.

Do outdoor saunas require a 220V power supply?

Yes. Large saunas, especially outdoor units, must operate on 220V to ensure efficient heating. Lower voltages may cause slow heating and prevent the sauna from reaching the required maximum temperature.

Do you provide installation services?

Yes, installation services are available at checkout. We strongly recommend purchasing professional installation for outdoor saunas. Please note: installation service covers sauna assembly only. Electrical wiring and foundation preparation are not included.
